The Olubosin of Ifetedo Kingdom in Ife South Local Government Area of Osun State, Oba (Barr) Akinola Oyetade Akinrera, Latiri 1, has promised to promote tourism, by elevating the culture and tradition of the ancient Ifetedo community.
This assurance was made on Saturday by the distinguished Monarch while addressing mammoth crowd at this year “Olojo Festival” of his town.
The Olubosin said the cultural practices of the community like Olojo Festival, should be promoted to attract tourists from across the globe and make Ifetedo Kingdom the envy of the world.
Oba Akinrera said, “our cultural practices, such as Olojo Festival, are our unique identity in which we are celebrating it to remember our forefathers and founders of the ancient Ifetedo.
“If we inject significant investment, creative energy, and business ideas into our culture and traditions, we shall become the envy of the world as people from the international countries would be joining us in celebrating it and even invest”.
The Olubosin, who was highly elated looking at the dignitaries from all walks of life joining him in celebrating the festival, promised not to relent in celebrating culture and traditions of his domain.
Oba Akinrera in his address commended Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the state for his people oriented programmes, saying his administration has been transforming the entire state for better since he assumed office.
The traditional ruler however appreciated the entire residents of Ifetedo for their unflinching support to him since he assumed the throne, while promising not to let them down.
The event was well attended by traditional rulers, politicians, industrialists, and individuals from far and near.
