The Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, has expressed grief and shock over the death of former Chief of Naval Administration and a director of Ocean Marine Solutions (OMS), Rear Admiral Joe Aikhomu (retd), who died at the age of 65.

The governor, in a statement, described the late Admiral Aikhomu as a symbol of hard work, diligence and forthrightness, praying that God would grant his family and associates the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Obaseki noted, “I received the news of the passing of former Chief of Naval Administration with shock and sadness.

“Admiral Aikhomu was a good friend and great supporter. An unrelenting patriot, the late Admiral was a fine, well cultured and disciplined naval officer, who was a symbol of hard work, diligence and forthrightness. We have lost a true Edo son.

“I share the grief of his immediate family, the good people of Edo State and indeed the entire Nigeria. I pray that God grants us all the fortitude to bear this devastating loss and may his soul rest in peace.”
