The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has re-elected Chris Isiguzo as its National President.
He was returned unopposed for a second term.
The election, which held on Thursday at the seventh triennial delegates’ conference of the union in Umuahia, the Abia State capital, was attended by councils from 32 states.
Isiguzo recalled that three years ago when he assumed office, he was conscious of the fact that the members of the union needed an organisation that must work to meet their needs.
“Three years later, I stand boldly before my colleagues that entrusted their mandate to me, to state that certainly things have changed significantly for the better as the union has moved from despair to hope, from difficulty in breathing to being alive once again, from a position of low morale of workers and members to reinvigoration and rejuvenation.”
The NUJ president listed his achievements in the last three years and promised to tackle some challenges confronting the union in the years ahead.
