NPF launches force insurance company

• IGP decorates newly-promoted AIGs, CPs with new ranks

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF), under the leadership of Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, marked a significant milestone on Monday, December 23, 2024, with the inauguration of the Force Insurance Company.

According to Force Public Relations Officer Force Headquarters, Abuja ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, this initiative, aimed at improving the welfare and security of police personnel and their families, was unveiled during a ceremony at the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Peacekeeping Hall, Force Headquarters Abuja.

The event was graced by dignitaries, including the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs, Senator Abdulhamid Mallam-Madori, and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, DIG Hashimu Argungu (Retd.), among others.

The Force Insurance Company will provide comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, life insurance, and financial protection plans tailored to the needs of law enforcement personnel, reinforcing the NPF’s commitment to its workforce’s well-being.

In a related development, IGP Egbetokun decorated newly-promoted Assistant Inspectors-General of Police (AIGs) and Commissioners of Police (CPs) at the same venue.

The promotions, approved by the Police Service Commission, saw the elevation of 10 CPs to AIG and 17 Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) to CP.

Prominent among the promoted officers are AIG Mustapha Mohammed Bala and AIG Akinwale Adeniran.

Newly-decorated CPs include CP Adamu Bakori and CP Abayomi Shogunle.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of state governors, retired and serving senior police officers, and families of the honorees.

IGP Egbetokun congratulated the officers and urged them to leverage their expertise in advancing the safety and security of Nigeria.

He emphasized the importance of adhering to the Rule of Law in their duties as the NPF continues its mission for a safer nation.
