NiMet performs QMS internal audit of Port Harcourt airport

In line with international best practices, the Nigerian Meteorological Agency, NiMet is currently performing an ISO 9001-2015 Quality Management System Internal Audit of its operations at the Port Harcourt International Airport, Rivers State.

According to the Head of the Agency’s QMS Unit, Mr. Ibrahim Ishiyaku, “Quality Management System internal audit is a means of ensuring that QMS standards are being adhered to. It is also a precursor for the third party or external maintenance audit. At the end of the internal audit, challenges, gaps and non-conformance noticed would be presented during the management review meeting for action.”

A Quality Management System audit evaluates an existing quality management programme to determine the conformance to organisation’s policies and regulatory requirements.

The Quality Management System Internal audit is an ongoing exercise at the four major airports in the country.
