The Nigerian Army (NA) has responded to the proliferation of audiovisual content circulating on social media, depicting the alleged maltreatment of a female soldier in civilian attire by certain senior officers.

In a statement released by Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, Director of Army Public Relations, it was clarified that the soldier in question did not follow the prescribed procedure for seeking redress within the NA.
