Acting Clerk of Senate, Mr Agada Rawlings Emmanuel, has been confirmed as the substantive clerk.
His confirmation letter by the National Assembly Service Commission [NASC] is dated Friday, June 27, 2025.
The confirmation took effect from June 26, 2025.
The confirmation letter was signed by the executive chairman of the commission, Chief Dr Saviour Enyiekere.
Sources in NASC confirmed the development. It could however not be confirmed if Mr Agada had received his letter as of close of work on Friday, June 27, 2025.
Recall that THE CONCLAVE had earlier published a report of the imminent rejig by the commission and the possible elevation of Mr Agada Emmanuel to the position of Clerk in substantive capacity featured in it.
Other redeployments that were scheduled to happen in the exercise by the NASC include:
Mr. Emmanuel Odo, former Deputy Clerk, Senate, Administration, who is to be redeployed in the House of Representatives, as Deputy Clerk, Legislative.
Mrs. Vivian Njemanze who is to be moved from the House of Representatives as Deputy clerk, Administration, to Senate, as deputy clerk, Legislative.
The former clerk, Senate, Mr. Andrew Nwoba, was, as learnt slated for redeployment in the office of the clerk to the National Assembly.
