The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party in Nasarawa State, David Ombugadu, has accused the returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission in the Nasarawa gubernatorial election of not verifying the governorship result before the winner was declared.

David Ombugadu disclosed that during the gubernatorial election in Nasarawa State, the total number of accredited voters in Gayam ward was 13,000.

However, when INEC was announcing the results, it stated that Governor Sule got 33,000 votes in Gayam ward.

David Ombugadu said that the total number of registered voters in Gayam ward was 34,000, and INEC announced that 33,000 out of the 34,000 voters took part in the election.

David Ombugadu said that he had never seen anywhere that 33,000 took part in an election where the total number of voters was 34,000.

He noted that when INEC was announcing the results, the agents of PDP raised objection and wrote a petition that was handed over to the returning officer.

However, the returning officer according to him, told the PDP that his job was simply to announce the result that was given to him. (Opera News)
