The Anambra State Police Command has arrested one Christian Ndubuisi for allegedly stabbing his elder brother to death in Onitsha, Anambra State, over a minor dispute.

A statement from the command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said that the suspect was apprehended by operatives from the 3-3 Divisional Headquarters on February 15, 2025.

According to Ikenga, “Preliminary information indicates that during an altercation with the deceased, the suspect broke a bottle and used it to stab his elder brother.

“The victim was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead by the attending physician.”

He added that the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, noted that this incident served as a sobering reminder of the importance of conflict resolution and anger management.

He was quoted to have said: “It is indeed tragic to witness a minor disagreement escalate into a violent confrontation, resulting in the loss of life.”

The CP further instructed that the case should be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka, saying that justice would be served.
