One Olalekan Gafar, 55, on Wednesday, appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan over alleged possession of four single barrel guns and expended ammunition.
Gafar, whose address was not provided, is facing a charge of unlawful possession of four guns and cartridges, to which he pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Insp Toyin Ibrahim, told the court that the defendant committed the offence sometimes in April at Emmanuel College of Theology, Ibadan.
He alleged that the defendant unlawfully had in his possession four single barrel guns and 18 expended cartridges without lawful authority.
The prosecutor said the defendant therefore committed an offence contrary to Section 417 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mr Olaolu Olanipekun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200,000 and one reliable surety in like sum.
He thereafter adjourned the case until July 10 for hearing.
