The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has placed an indefinite ban on operations of commercial motorcycles popularly called Okada across six Local Government Areas of the state.
Sanwo-Olu gave the order at a meeting with Divisional Police Officers, DPOs, and Area Commanders across the state at the Lagos House, Ikeja.
The six local governments where their operations were outlawed by the governor included Ikeja, Surulere, Eti-Osa, Lagos Mainland, Lagos Island, and Apapa axis of the state.
This development came on the heels of the murder of a sound engineer, David Imoh, who was allegedly lynched and burnt to death over N100 change in Lekki axis of the state.
