The legal team of the Labour Party on Monday met with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja.
The meeting with INEC officials was held at the Commission’s national headquarters.
It is preparatory to commencement of inspection of materials used for the February 25 presidential election.
The head of the legal team, Dr Livy Uzoukwu, led 60 lawyers.
INEC, in a Facebook post, stated that the Labour Party’s legal team was at the commission’s headquarters to discuss modalities for obtaining certain documents.
The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, assured the legal team that the electoral body would provide all the documents requested to prosecute their case.
“INEC has nothing to hide. Documents available at the HQ will be given immediately,” Yakubu was quoted to have said.
“We are meeting with Resident Electoral Commissioners today, and we will discuss how other documents at the state level could also be made available to you speedily.”
