The All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all 23 Local Government Council chairs, including the 255 councillorship seats in Saturday’s election.
The election was conducted by the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission (KAD-SIECOM).
While declaring the results, the chairperson of the commission, Hajia Hajara Mohammed, said that eight political parties participated in the voting.
Hajjia Mohammed listed the LGAs won by the APC as: Birnin-Gwari, Chikun, Igabi, Ikara, Jaba, Jema’a, Kachia, Kaduna North, and Kaduna South.
Others are: Kagarko, Kajuru, Kaura, Kuaru, Kubau, Kudan, Lere, Makarfi, Sabon Gari, Sanga, Soba, Zango-Kataf and Zaria.
The State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, after casting his vote at LEA Kawo polling unit O47 in Kaduna North Local Government Area, expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the election across the state.
He said the polls were generally free, fair, and peaceful, save for minor problems recorded in three polling units and wards.
He said that the turnout across the 23 local government areas was satisfactory.
