The media reports that did round across several platforms, on Thursday, indicated that the men were returning from a business trip from Abuja when they were killed by bandits.

Kaduna State Government gave these clarifications in a statement issued on Friday, by the commissioner of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan.

The government said that the story was misleading and incorrect.

According to the commissioner, “the Kano indigenes perished in accident, and were not killed by bandits on the Kaduna-Abuja Road.”

He stated that “….The fact is, they perished at the Rigachikun axis of Kaduna-Zaria Road in a road accident following a burst tyre….”

“….Our deep condolences go to their families, as we pray that their souls rest in peace.

“We also wish those who sustained injuries speedy recovery….,” he added.

He assured the residents of the state that “government would respond appropriately if the need arises.”
