According to another account, the fire at the Sokoto Central Market started at a trash site near the motorcycle section.
In response, the chairman of Motorcycles Marketers Association, Shehu Muhammad, claimed they couldn’t calculate the number of motorcycles destroyed by fire because the fire was still burning as of press time.
“We cannot quantify the number of motorcycles burnt down by the fire now because the fire is still raging,” he said.
