Troops of Task Force Mallam Fatori comprising Nigerien and Nigerian troops from the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) firm Base in Arege has continue to hit ISWAP positions in Lake Chad Island.
According to military sources, the troops carried out clearance operations to the general areas of Ali Jimari, Dogon Chuku and Tunbum Rago.
The troops were also reported to have sighted some motorcycles and an old Hilux toyota van suspected to belong to members of Boko Haram/ ISWAP criminals engaged in a hot pursuit which led them to the location where the criminals ran away and abandoned the items.
The military sources said artillery fire from the troops of the Nigerian Army were also targeted at a training camp of Boko Haram/ISWAP at Doron Naira in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
The sources said the MNJTF troops have successfully pushed the terrorists to their hiding point in the Island of the lake Chad of Marte and Abadam.
