Senator Ifeanyi Araraume has debunked the report that he was planning to defect from the All Progressives Comgress (APC) to the Labour Party (LP).
In a statement in Abuja on Tuesday and signed by Stanley Nzekwe, Araraume described the report that he had concluded plans to defect from APC to the Labour Party as fallacious.
He said there was no truth in the rumour that he was joining the Labour Party as its candidate to contest Imo state guber election.
“I’m still a member of APC and have no reason to leave my party now,” he said.
Araraume, a two-term senator who represented Imo north senatorial district between 2999 and 2007 said he was more concerned at present to contribute his quota in resolving the economic, political and security challenges facing the ountry.
He said he had no reason to jump ship at the moment.
He said he would always make his political decisions known to the public while advising journalists to always cross check their reports before publishing.
