A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress [APC] in Edo North, Dr. Hussein Yahaya Garba has congratulated Senator Monday Okpebholo on winning the governorship ticket of the party.
Dr Garba, in a statement, also applauded Edo APC for conducting a free, fair and credible primary election, which results were announced on Friday, 23rd February, 2024.
He said in the statement: “I, Dr. Hussein Yahaya Garba, on behalf of my family and supporters, congratulate Senator Monday Okpebholo on his emergence as the APC Edo State Gubernatorial Candidate.”
Dr. Hussein extolled the leaders of the party both at the State and National levels for a smooth and transparent primary which produced Sen. Monday Okpebholo as the party’s standard bearer.
According to him: “The people have made their choice through the primary and this goes to show that democracy remains the best form of govemment in any society.
“Let me use this medium to also congratulate our leader, Pastor Osagie Ize lyamu, on his support and the leadership role to make this a reality.
“Sir, I salute your courage and doggedness. It is a win-win for all of us. No victor, no vanquished. What has happened has shown that power belongs to God alone, not any individual or group of persons.
“I urge our party leaders and supporters to be united as this would further strengthen our zeal towards the actualization of our desired goal.
“Let us continue to sue for peace as we go into the electioneering and the main election.”
