The presidency has commended the swift and professional response of security operatives who intervened after a man attempted to breach the security cordon around President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during his official visit to Kaduna State on Thursday.
The incident occurred while President Tinubu was addressing a crowd at the inauguration of key projects executed by Governor Uba Sani’s administration.
The yet-to-be-identified man made a sudden move towards the podium, momentarily shocking the President and prompting a swift reaction from his security detail.
President Tinubu was reported to have instructed the security operatives to “leave him alone” and continued with his address.
The president’s intervention was believed to have saved the day for the man as security operatives would have arrested him for further necessary actions.
While the motive behind the man’s actions remained unknown as of press time, the dignified response by both the president and his security team has drawn praise from supporters and observers alike.
In a post on X.com (formerly Twitter), the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Digital/New Media, Otega Ogra, praised the composure and efficiency of the security agents who managed the situation without disrupting the flow of the event.
“Handled with utmost professionalism by secret service agents without any disruption to Mr President’s speech or the event,” Ogra wrote.
