A former governor of Anambra State and presidential standard-bearer of the Labour Party, LP, in the February 25 presidential poll, Mr Peter Obi was the cynosure at the one-year anniversary of Governor Charles Soludo in Awka on Saturday.

Obi caused a disruption of Soludo’s speech as he walked in while the programme was on.

Soludo was speaking, recognising the presence of his boss and former Nigerian president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, whom he described as the father of modern Nigeria.

There was an applause. It was somewhat long. Thinking that his speech was the reason for the applause, Soludo wanted them to pause so he could continue.

Then, the applause became rapturous and was rising to a crescendo that almost “brought down the roof”.

Soludo looked up and saw Peter Obi walk in. Then he knew the reason for the “beautiful madness.”

He quickly announced the arrival of “former governor of Anambra State, the man in whom we are well pleased.”
