Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello, has sacked the Director-General of the state Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Abdullahi Arah.

This was contained in a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Matane, on Saturday.

Matane stated that the removal of the SDGs Director-General was to facilitate the implementation of the reforms initiated by the government towards the attainment of the SDGs in the state.

He noted that Arah was incapable of piloting the affairs of his office as required by the state government having failed to perform to its expectations.

Matane, in another statement issued on Saturday, announced the suspension of the Chairman, Niger State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Isah Adamu, by Governor Bello over anomalies in the operations of the board.

“The suspension was necessitated by some observed anomalies in the operations of the board,” the SSG noted.

He further quoted the governor as directing Adamu to hand over the affairs of the board to the Permanent Member III of the board to enable full review of its operations for optimal growth.
