A former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo state, Gen. Charles Airhaivbere (retd) said he had absolute confidence in the Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led National Working Committee, NWC, to organise a rancour-free presidential primary election on the 30th of this month.
Airhaivbere, who played host to no fewer than 4,000 House of Representatives aspirants on the platform of the APC across the country who converged on his Zeus Paradise Hotel, Abuja, for their screening, said with the level of maturity and composure displayed by the aspirants and the screening panel put in place by the NWC, the party wouldl get it right during the presidential primary election later in the month.
“You see, people are saying whatever they like but I can assure you that, with the calibre of those contesting and our national leaders, especially the national working committee, led by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, I can tell you that we will have smooth, free and fair primary election that everyone will be proud of.
“I play host to 4,000 aspirants in my hotel; they were screened there; I saw their maturity, composure. I was really proud of them. So, we don’t expect anything short of this in our presidential primary election this month’s end.
“I also advise that all our presidential aspirants should carry on with their campaign in canvassing for party faithful’s support the way they are doing now: no insult, no abuse. I must commend them for demonstrating equanimity and leadership with theur eyes sharply fixed on the ball.”
