Victor Bala Kona, a former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State, is dead.
He died in the early hours of Sunday in Abuja from a brief illness.
A press release by Emmanuel Bello, tmedia aide to Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State, confirmed the passing of Bala Kona.
He said the state government and state chapter of the PDP felt a deep sorrow on the death of Baka Kona.
The statement said the late Bala Kona was not only a political figure but also a father and devoted family man.
“Bala Kona’s significance in history is secure and will always be held in high esteem.
“His demise comes at a time when his extensive experience and knowledge are most dearly needed,” the statement said.
Governor Agbu Kefas has reportedly conveyed his heartfelt condolences to Bala Kona’s family and all those affected by his profound and irreparable loss.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Officer of the PDP in the state, Andeta’rang Irammae, released a statement expressing the party’s grief over the news of the former Chairman’s passing and offered prayers for his soul.
The deceased had served as the Chairman of the party from March 2012 to August 2020.
During his tenure, he greatly contributed to the party’s growth.
His consistent and persistent leadership presence in the state was quite remarkable and commendable.
Bala Kona handed over the party’s leadership to Kefas before resigning to contest the governorship position in the state under the PDP’s banner, which he won.
