Fire guts Kogi Assembly building

Fire has gutted the Kogi State House of Assembly complex in Lokoja, the state capital.

The inferno which occurred in the early hours of Monday, it was gathered, ripped through the roof of the building, and damaged the floor of the Assembly complex.

The cause of the fire outbreak has yet to be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.

Confirming the incident, the Director of Kogi State Fire Service, Salau Ozigi, said the fire did not extend beyond the chamber and gallery of the Assembly complex.

Meanwhile, the Speaker of the Assembly, Mathew Kolawole, and the Kogi State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara, have visited the scene of the incident.
