The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned Mkor Aondona, suspended special adviser on research and planning to Hyacinth Alia, governor of Benue, for alleged sextortion and cyberbullying.
Aondona was arraigned last Wednesday at the federal high court in Lafia, Nasarawa state, on a five-count charge bordering on alleged sextortion and cyberbullying.
“That you, Dr. Mkor Aondona Donatus “M” 50yrs, sometime in September, 2024 in FCT, Abuja, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, knowingly and intentionally sent messages via WhatsApp, containing recorded nude images and videos of one (name withheld), which were grossly offensive, obscene, and of a menacing character, to wit: threatening to publicly disseminate sexually explicit images and videos, which caused the said person (name withheld) to fear for her safety and well-being and thereby committed on offence contrary to Section 24(1)(a) of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, ETC) Act, 2015 and punishable under same Section of the Act,” part of the charge sheet reads.
