Commissioner of Police in Edo State, Phillip Ogbadu has promised to provide security to malls, supermarkets or pharmacies that wish to operate till late night in the state.
Ogbadu who made this promise during a courtesy visit of the Police Management Team in the state to the Leadership of the Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch, the Lion Bar, led by Pius Oiwoh, AICMC, said that the provision was a mandate to his men by the Law.
He appreciated Oiwoh for leading a vibrant Bar that has synergized in ensuring a seamless administration of the criminal justice system with the Police in the State.
Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch, Pius Oiwoh AICMC, in response to this, appreciated the CP for his accessibility since his assumption of office.
Oiwoh therefore sought the permission of the CP to allow Lawyers have full access to their phones whenever they are at the state CIID in respect of their clients.
The CP who immediately approved the request, promptly instructed the Egg Heads of the State CIID, Benin City to put an end to the practice of Lawyers dropping their phones before accessing their clients.
The Police Management Team and the Benin Bar thereafter, shared ideas for the betterment of the state.
