A former House of Representatives aspirant for Esan Central, Esan West and Igueben, and Edo APC Campaign Council Director in charge of Professionals escaped death by the whiskers on Saturday after the election.
The attack on Ebosele was carried out by suspected PDP thugs believed to have been unleashed on her at Edenu in Esan Central Local Government.
The assailants in their large numbers arrived at the location on foot and blocked the road as Dr. Ebosele was departing after the voting results were announced.
However, the assassination attempt was thwarted by Ebosele’s security personnel, who reportedly fired shots into the air to ward off the rampaging thugs.
The scene became chaotic due to the confrontation with Ebosele and others in her Prado Jeep fleeing from the scene.
THE CONCLAVE reports that the polling unit where Dr. Ebosele voted was won by the APC for the first time in the annals of election since 1999. It is a traditional PDP unit.
The reported attack came after the results of the ward were announced. APC scored 102 votes while PDP scored 94 votes. This result reportedly rankled the other party.
Dr. Elizabeth Ebosele, as learnt, won her Unit, Ward, and LGA for the APC in the election.
Hon Odi Okojie, an APC House of Reps member, was also reportedly attacked at his residence in Uromi.
It was learnt that the attacks and others across the state had been logged by the APC in a formal report to the Police.
