Edo State Governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki, is said to have been rattled by the alleged fresh N25b bond deal it brokered through his company, Afrinvest.
Governor Obaseki is said to be making frantic moves to either debunk the public revelation of the secret N25b bond deal or give vent to it by justifying the secret borrowing.
Either ways, it is clear that the Governor can no longer silence those revealing details of the bond but it’s not clear if the government would admit to the veracity of the information coming out in the public.
The government’s response to the “damning” revelations made by a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr John Mayaki and published in the media has been a major issue of discussion in Edo State Government house.
The state government, according to a report, was doing everything possible to address a press conference on the subject matter to avoid a backlash.
“If the state government confirms the veracity of the report, it must bring out all the documents of the N25b bond deal in public domain and if it denies the same, we shall publish the documents,” Mayaki said.
