
The United Kingdom said it would continue to take action against individuals identified to be responsible for violence during elections in Nigeria.
This was contained in a statement issued by the British High Commission in Abuja on the upcoming Edo and Ondo Governorship elections.
The High Commission said it would be deploying observation mission in states in support of civil society-led observation.
It added that “the United Kingdom takes a strong stand against election-related violence.”
The British High Commission further stated that the UK would continue to provide support and engagement towards these elections.
The High Commission urged INEC, Police and other agencies involved to work together to deliver free, fair and credible elections.
