PDP and APC

“They lose the day in expectation of the night, and the night in fear of the dawn.” -Seneca

This above quote underscores the fears of the leading opposition party in Edo State, the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The APC is afraid to campaign with issues because they have nothing to campaign with. So they are worried about losing the election come September this year.

The future is bleak for them, overshadowed by the opportunities to address key issues that the average Nigerian is faced with.

On this basis, they have now become reliant on rumours of defection by members of the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to their fold.

Instead of addressing issues, the APC resorts to peddling unfounded news that are mere figments of their imaginations. The social media is brimming with such stories as : “I am gone back to APC, my dear leader”; “APC welcome 8 former LGA chairmen” ; Some PDP leaders and members in Igbanke East Ward waiting to be received into APC
… Details coming soon”; “Edo State Election in mind!: 14 PDP LGA YOUTH LEADERS SET TO RESIGN. MAY DEFECT AFTER RESIGNATION…. APC IS WORKING UNDER GROUND.”

There are several of these types of peddled headlines that are laughable and bemusing, but the common Edo State Citizen is not taken in by them. They are focused on the Dr Asue Ighodalo’s project to birth a more prosperous Edo State. They know he has the experience and competence. Edo State is too sophisticated and forward looking to be handed over to non-starters who have not shown any capacity whatsoever.
