Super Eagles team coordinator and Chairman, Bauchi Football Association, Patrick Pascal, MON, has disclosed that the Nigeria team is the best disciplined he has ever seen in Africa.
Pascal, who has been the super Eagles team coordinator for some years now, said the players had shown commitments to their mother land whenever they were invited for national assignment.
“Africa is very special. It is different. We need a lot of discipline, organization, and collective spirit. So, these are players that showed total commitment to their Coaches, Nigeria Football Federation, and their country, Nigeria.
“So, each player even forgets his star status at club level. They player among other players in our team. They fight for this country.”
“The experience with them is superb, very important for me personally. These are players that don’t put money first before playing for Nigeria, even though they are being owned, you wouldn’t hear from them, that is discipline, commitment to their mother land.
Pascal who was among the 1996 Nigeria Olympic contingent that was honoured by the then Head of state , Late Sani Abacha with MON medal said the Nigeria match against Rwanda in Uyo was just natural describing it as game of football.
“You see ,many Nigerians wouldn’t understand that the players that have been on the bench for so long need to be given the chance to prove themselves. That was the only opportunity. So, what happened is just a game, no sell out at all. Which player can they buy in that team . Please, let us begin to pray for the players and officials and Nigeria our country.
