The Department of State Services (DSS) has released the Regional Editor of Conversation Africa, Adejuwon Soyinka, who was earlier arrested at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in the Ikeja area of Lagos State.

Reports said that Soyinka, who is the former Pioneer Editor of the BBC Pidgin Service, was apprehended by the DSS officers shortly after he arrived in Nigeria aboard a Virgin Atlantic flight from the United Kingdom about 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024.

The journalist confirmed his release in a press statement.

“I have just been released by the DSS in Lagos. They are holding on to my passport, though. I am in an Uber ride ordered for me by the Deputy Director of DSS in Lagos. I will speak better when I get home,” Soyinka said.
