The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Friday night, announced 796 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country, reinforcing anxieties that the second wave of the pandemic is blowing across the country.
The health agency disclosed that FCT had the highest record of the new cases with-258, Lagos-248, Kaduna-117, Katsina-52, Ogun-27, Kwara-23, Gombe-22, Adamawa-17, Plateau-15, Kano-6. Others are Rivers-2, Ondo-2, Ekiti-2, Nasarawa-2, Sokoto-2 and Taraba-1.
The agency said no new deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure stood at 1,190.
The data from the agency disclosed that 248 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 65,722 while 5,228 cases were still active in the country.
Total confirmed cases in Nigeria – 72,140.
Total discharged cases – 65,722.
