The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Wednesday night, announced 1,138 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total infections in the country to 134,690 cases.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the fresh cases with-377, FCT-172, Plateau-86, Kano-84, Edo-60, Osun-47, Nasarawa-41, Imo-40, Rivers-36, Niger-32, Oyo-32, Borno-29, Kaduna-27, Delta-18, Kwara-17, Cross River-9, Ekiti-8, Bauchi-7, Ogun-7, Sokoto-6 and Bayelsa-3.
The data from the agency disclosed that five deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,613 on Tuesday to 1,618 on Wednesday.
The agency said 1,106 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 108,657 while 24,415 cases were still active in the country.
The agency explained that discharges on Wednesday included 476 community recoveries in Lagos State and 121 community recoveries in Plateau State managed in line with guidelines.
