Residents of Oke-Ola community of Gbongan, in Aiyedaade Local Government Area of Osun State, were thrown into confusion after a wealthy cocoa dealer known as Festus Olawale reportedly committed suicide.
The Conclave gathered that the 43-year-old Olawale gave up the ghost after hanging himself in his cocoa store located in the ancient town.
The lifeless body of the cocoa businessman was said to have been discovered on Friday night. It was reportedly dangling with the noose firmly tightened.
The discoverycofvthe lifeless body threw the residents of the area into confusion as some of them expressed shock over the incident.
They were at a loss as to the reasons behind the decision if the wealthy cocoa dealer to contemplate and resort to suicide.
According to a resident of the town, identified as Olatunde John, who spoke with our correspondent on Sunday evening, “the deceased was survived by four kids and he was doing well in his business but we don’t know what could have pushed him to kill himself in this manner.”
