Apparently caving in to intense pressure mounted on him by stakeholders and staff members, the outgoing Clerk to the National Assembly, CNA, Architect Amos Ojo has reportedly withdrawn his letter of request to the National Assembly Service Commission, NASC, to enable him stay put in office while on his pre-retirement leave.
THE CONCLAVE gathered auhtoritatively that Architect Amos Ojo approached the Chairman of the Commission on Friday to withdraw his letter of request.
The development has paved the way for the Commission to issue out a letter of appointment to an acting CNA who will succeed Architect Ojo.
Sources quoted Architect Ojo to have said that the issue of his staying put in office to observe his pre-retirement leave has generated unnecessary media attention and public outcry.
Consequent upon his resolve not to push further to stay put in office, he was said to have opted to withdraw his letter and proceed on his pre-retirement leave, effective November 14th, 2022.
He is expected to retire fully on the 14th of February, 2023.
Arc Ojo’s decision to take a bow at this point has defused tension in the National Assembly management circle and given the commission some breather.
The NASC had received its share of bashing on the issue even as it generated acrimony among the commissioners and the chairman who had either pitched their tents either with or against the outgoing CNA
The commission, as learnt, will now proceed to expeditiously issue a letter to Architect Ojo’s successor between now and Monday, 14th, 2022 in order to forestall vacuum in leadership.
