Buhari nominates Justice Tsoho as CJ of Federal High Court

President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated Justice J.T. Tsoho as the substantive Chief Judge of the Federal High Court.

He conevened the nomibation to the Senate for its secreening and confirmation in a letter, which was read on the floor on Tuesday.

After the letter was read, the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, referred it to the Committee on Judiciary and Legal Matters which is expected to present its report in a week.

Tsoho was sworn in as the acting CJ of the Federal High Court on Friday, July 26, 2019, by the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Tanko Muhammad.

Buhari also asked the Senate to confirm the appointment of Justice Benedict Bakwaph Kanyip as President of National Industrial Court of Nigeria.
