More than 20 people have been killed following fresh attacks by bandits in Kaduna State.
The bandits were said to have attacked some villages within the Giwa Local Government Area of the state.
Sources disclosed that the marauders invaded the villages between Saturday and Sunday morning, shooting sporadically.
Several villagers were left hurt in the wake of the assaults.
Speaking on the development, the Kaduna State Commissioner for internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan listed the villages to include Kauran Fawa, Marke, and Riheya.
Aruwan said during the attacks, the bandits also burnt several houses, trucks, and cars along with agricultural produce at various farms.
He, however, said that security operatives had been deployed in the general area to sustain patrols.
The State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, expressed sadness over the attack and directed the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency to conduct an urgent assessment of the area towards providing relief to the victims.
