The Arewa Youth Assembly showered encomiums on the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmud Yaqoob, followingSuoreme Court judgements regarding the 2023 general elections.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Publicity Secretary of Arewa Youth Assembly, Aliyu Muhammad.
Aliyu Muhammad said that it was unprecedented in the history of democracies of the developing nations and even some of the developed ones to have a credible, free and fair election conducted, whose status could not be challenged even at the apex court of the country.
“It shows the level of expertise of the INEC’s chairman, professionality, hard work, resilience, sincerity, and the desire to uphold the tenets of our democracy.
“He has demonstrated to the world that indeed, Nigeria and Nigerians are getting mature democratically speaking.
“We are proud of him. He has done well for the region, and for that, we commend him. His kinds are rare, and we pray for more of Professor Mahmud Yakubu not only in the North but the entire country as well. We consider him as the Most Outstanding PAN NORTHERN NIGERIAN OF THE DECADE AS WELL AS SARDAUNA MATASAN AREWA.”
