APC wins Katsina Assembly by-election

The All-Progressives Congress, APC, won the Katsina State Assembly By- election that took place in Bakori LGA.

The election was conducted to fill the vacant seat occasioned by the death, earlier this year, of Hon Ismaila Tsiga.

The returning officer of the election, Professor Aminu Dalha Kankia, a staff member of Federal University, Dutsin-ma, declared the results of the election.

Hr said that the candidate of the APC, Dr Ibrahim Aminu received 20,446 votes while his PDP counterpart, Alhaji Aminu Magaji garnered 11,356 votes.

Accord party candidate, Abdullahi Sulaiman, got 729 votes.

The returning officer said Dr Ibrahim Aminu of the APC won the election and was returned elected having scored the highest number of valid votes cast in the election.
