Vehicles and other goods including food items have been burnt down by an explosion, which occurred in Sabon Wuse, Tafa local government area of Niger State.
The blast, as reported, happened while a tanker was offloading gas at a terminal in the area.
Reports said that the fire erupted around 11pm on Saturday and burnt for hours, before the arrival of the firefighters in the scene of the incident.
A source explained that the fire extended to parts of a nearby petrol station, saying that shops containing foodstuff and packed vehicles were burnt down.
He expressed gratitude that no life was lost and no one sustained injuries, stressing that it happened in the daytime when people were outside doing their business else, it would have been another sad story in Niger State.
The fumes of the fire could be seen all around Sabon Wuse which showed how serious it was.
