Lagos State All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, Akinwunmi Bayode has affirmed the executive position of the new governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Chief Bayode, in a statement on Wednesday, said that hitherto the Governor’s name- Aiyedatiwa- signified that everybody was positioned to lay claim to “life and livelihood”; but, now, that indulgence is the exclusive preserve of the governor as exemplified by “aiye ti da tie” as opposed to his real name: Aiyedatiwa.
That was the extent the satirical reaction ended as Bayode tasked the governor to bridge all the existing gaps and create synergy among interests in the party for smooth governance of the state.
According to Bayode: “The challenge now on Aiyedatiwa is to bridge the governance gaps and bring different or divergent interests together to avert a possible round of another crisis that may want to rear its urgly head.
“He must avoid charlatans, and ego bruising, ego-massaging sycophants; it is only by doing that he can survive the heat.
“Lastly, remember a man who doesn’t read further in life is not in any way better than a man who cannot write.”
He added: “People who refuse to learn from history will always repeat mistakes in history.”
He prayed to the Almighty God to grant the late former Governor Rotimi Akeredolu whom Aiyedatiwa succeeded, eternal rest and for Him to give his family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
