The Senate on Wednesday confirmed Aghughu Adolphus as Auditor General of the Federation.
This followed the report submitted by the Committee on Public Accounts.
The committee had screened him last week.
The Senate had, last week, received a request from President Muhammadu Buhari’s for Aghughu’s confirmation as the Auditor General of the Federation.
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan called for proper funding of the office of Auditor General of the Federation for it to b3 abke to carry out its duty of nipping corruption in the bud.
Lawan said that this was necessary to reduce the work burden on the shoulders of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission, ICPC.
