Again, gunmen kill prominent monarch, two others, in Imo

Another prominent traditional ruler in Imo State, Eze Ignatius Asor, the traditional ruler of Obudi, Agwa, in Oguta Local Government Area of the State, has been killed by gunmen.

According to a source, the gunmen stormed the palace of the prominent monarch in the early hours of Monday November 14, 3022.

They shot Asor and two other people around him dead before escaping the scene of the incident in their waiting motorcycles and cars.

Describing the killing as dastardly and the death of Asor a big loss to the entire Agwa community, another prominent member of the community said: “He was such a good man; he has helped to curb the incessant insecurity situations we have been experiencing in this our community; it’s a pity he is gone.”

However, the State Police Public Relations Officer, Michael Abattam who confirmed the incident, said the police were already on the trail of the hoodlums with the clues in their possession.

“Yes, it’s true but the police is already investigating the matter we have clues already and we are on their trail,” Abattam said.
