A former Chairman of the Plateau State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Katdapba Gobum, who was kidnapped by gunmen on Wednesday, has been released.
Although details of the development were sketchy, a former General Manager of the Plateau Publishing and Printing Company (PPPC), Jonathan Ishaku, confirmed his release by the abductors on Friday.
Gobum retired recently as senior editor with the Nigerian Standard, published by the PPPC.
He was abducted by gunmen on Wednesday evening, while on his way from the Press Centre to his Munchongopyeng residence in Jos South local government area.
