A 15-year-old student of Government Science Secondary School, Pyakasa/Maitama, Abuja, Meshach Ogwuche Agaba, has died through electrocution.
The incident happened last Wednesday about 7:30am.
Reports said that Meshach was fetching water from the tap
close to a wall with barb wire on the school premises when the incident happened.
He was reportedly rushed to Maitama district Geberal hospital for treatment, where he was later confirmed dead by doctors.
“Meshach was trying to fetch water but slipped and about to fall down, in the process, he struggled and held on to the barb wire that suspectedly had contact with naked electric cable,” a police source said.
The spokesperson of FCT Police Command, Josephine Adeh confirmed the incident.
“ Meshach was electrocuted while fetching water but investigation is ongoing,” She said.
